Rory O’Neill is the founding partner of TPG Credit Manage-ment and has overall management responsibility for the firm including all investment and operational activities. TPG Credit Management manages private investment portfolios with a dual focus on corporate distressed investments and distressed assets through offices in Minneapolis and London. The firm was founded in 2005 in partnership with the principals of TPG Capital. Prior to founding TPG Credit Management, Mr. O’Neill was a senior managing director with Cargill Value Investment (“CVI”) (now CarVal Investors), responsible for managing the Global Credit Strategies (corporate distressed) business. Mr. O’Neill joined Cargill in 1992 in the Corporate Strategy and Business Development Group. He transferred to CVI in 1993 and moved to London to establish the European arm of the Global Credit Strategies business, eventually becoming responsible for all of the CVI product lines in Europe (including corporate distressed, portfolios of non-performing loans, and distressed real estate). Subsequent to the 1997 Asian crisis, he expanded the Global Credit Strategies business to include Asia as well as Latin America. He returned to North America in 1999 and developed the final geography for the Global Credit Strategies by adding North America, thus managing a truly Global Credit Strategies business. Mr. O’Neill received his MBA in 1992 from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with a concentration in Finance where he was a Director’s List member. Prior to business school, Mr. O’Neill was with KPMG as a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. O’Neill received his BA in 1987 from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota in Business Administration and Biology summa cum laude.
