Bharat Rao
Head of Financial Services, South East Asia, Actis

Bharat Rao joined Actis in 2006 to help build its investment portfolio in South East Asia, with a special emphasis on Indonesia. Prior to joining Actis, Mr. Rao was a Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (“PwC”) for over seven years during which he advised several successful privatizations in emerging markets and developed a transactions advisory practice for PwC in Indonesia. Having advised a number of private equity and alternative investment asset managers on restructurings and direct investments (growth capital and buy-outs) over the last one and a half decades in South East Asia, Mr. Rao is well aware of the challenges faced by investors in this part of the world. He started his career as a commercial banker with Citibank N.A. in India. He has an Engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from the Indian Institute of Management.
