Martín Escobari
Managing Director, Advent International

Martín Escobari joined Advent in July 2008 and has five years of private equity investment and advisory experience, and seven years of senior management operating experience. Prior to joining Advent, Martín was an operating partner of Advent working on the creation of International Meal Company. Mr. Escobari was a co-founder and CFO of Sumbarino.com, Brazil’s leading online retailer (market capitalization US$1.6 billion), where he participated in the initial fund raising and then led the company’s corporate development efforts including six acquisitions, IPO in Bovespa and eventual sale to Lojas Americanas. Prior to Submarino.com, Mr. Escobari was a founding partner of Orange Advisory, an M&A boutique in Brazil. Previously, he was an investment officer with the Brazilian private equity firm GP Investimentos. Mr. Escobari received a B.A. in economics, magna cum laude, from Harvard College and an M.B.A. with high distinction, graduating as a Baker Scholar, from Harvard Business School.
