On behalf of The Wharton School and the Private Equity and Venture Capital Conference Team,  we are delighted to welcome you to the 14th annual Wharton Private Equity & Venture Capital Conference.

  Now in its fourteenth year, the conference is a distinguished event for industry leaders, alumni, faculty, and students to discuss recent trends and emerging issues in the private equity and venture capital industries. As the most renowned student-run conference of its kind and the largest professional forum at Wharton, the conference is designed to foster professional education and a dynamic interaction among people active in the private equity and venture capital arenas.  Furthermore, it aims to highlight Wharton's multi-disciplinary program and enhance the school's position as a leading source of industry professionals.

  The theme of this year’s conference, “Harnessing the Winds of Change,” is a timely examination of the industry as it faces a new credit and regulatory environment while international growth is on the rise.   LBO- focused panels will tackle issues ranging from the sourcing, managing and exiting of large-cap buyouts, to increased investing activity in both the domestic middle market as well as in international markets.   VC-focused panels will explore the trends in healthcare and technology investing, and will consider the broader implications of growth equity investing in BRIC countries.  In addition, the conference will feature panels that discuss legal and tax issues in private equity investing, the perspective of limited partners, and the expected rise in distressed investing.
